School Picnic / Meet the Teacher - this Friday 1 March on the field 5pm – 7:30pm
School’s back and the children are busy catching up with old friends and making new ones. Here’s our chance to do the same!
This year we are combining our Welcome Picnic with Meet the Teacher, so you can meet your child’s Team Teachers too.   It’s a family affair so bring the kids, pack a picnic dinner, something to sit on and liquid refreshments. There’ll be sausies on the barbie for sale and Mr. Whippy on hand for those who eat up all their dinner first.
Please use the gate near the Jervois Road roundabout to access the field (where the picnic will be held).
Come along and help keep our school community strong – and enjoy yourself while you’re at it!
Look forward to seeing you there, the Bayfield Community Group (BCG)

Keeping Ourselves Safe Parent Meeting
If you would be interested in attending an evening parent meeting run by Constable Rob regarding this programme please email lindam@bayfield.school.nz
We would need to have a minimum of 10 parents attending to make this viable.

School Costs & Term 1 Donations
Many thanks to those families who have already paid their school costs and donations.  Just a friendly reminder that Term 1 donations are now due.

No Stopping / Parking Road Markings on Clifton Road
Auckland Transport have recently reinstated the block of no stopping/parking lines on Clifton Road just up from the gate to the junior school.  These were removed in our rebuild as this area was used as the site access.  Whilst we know it is frustrating as there is already limited parking outside the school, but it is there for safety.  AT consider this a safer area for children/parents to cross the road rather than at the top corner with Jervois Road.

Lost property
We are overwhelmed, already, with clothing, hats, shoes, drink bottles, lunch boxes etc.
It is spread out outside the office, so please check it for items belonging to your family.
Any items remaining at 3:30pm on Friday will be given to charity.

Homestays for International Students
Would there be any families, friends of families, relations of families that live reasonably close to Bayfield School that would be interested in hosting international students and their parent?  Is so please email lindam@bayfield.school.nz

Bayfield School Nut Policy
The Board have considered recent research regarding anaphylaxis and have consulted with the parents of the children with severe nut allergies.  They have decided to ease our no nuts at school policy.
What this means for you and your children:
1.      Children can come to school with nut products
2.      Children are still not able to share food with other children
3.      All teachers are aware of any child with a severe allergies and care plans
4.      Individual teams may have to adjust bans to cater to individual children in their teams
5.      Year 1 and 2 teams may have to be more vigilant around nuts and may ask parents not to include nut items in lunchboxes. This is because some of our younger children are still managing their allergies. If this is the case you will be informed.

Please note that this easement may need to change in the future depending on the children attending our school and the severity of allergies that they present.
